Lyon College Welcome Weekend begins Aug. 18

Incoming students move into the residence halls at Lyon College during Welcome Weekend Aug. 18-20. The college is expecting approximately 164 freshmen and 54 transfer students.

Welcome Weekend is designed to introduce incoming students and their families to the college and to get to know the Lyon community.

Welcome Weekend activities begin at 8 a.m. Aug. 18 when students move their belongings to the campus. Students will have most of the day to get moved in and set up their rooms before meeting with faculty advisers.

New students are welcomed by staff, faculty, and returning students, who help move their belongings to their rooms.

The incoming students will be some of the first to eat in the college’s new dining hall and student union Edwards Commons. Brunch will be offered to students and parents on move-in day.

The college will again host “A Taste of Batesville,” which features food booths set up by area restaurants.
