Pre-prom program discourages drinking, texting while driving

BATESVILLE, Ark. -- On March 16 and 17 Southside High School will be involved with the "Every 15 Minutes" program. This program is designed to bring awareness to texting or drinking while driving.

Organizers are pushing to inform the student body of the dangers of distracted driving. This is a two-day program which will include a mock car accident and an overnight retreat, followed up with a memorial service on the morning of March 17.

Our high school prom is on March 18. Terry Watson of Batesville says this will hopefully be a wake-up call proir to this special event.
