Arkansas Legend: White River Monster

Arkansas Legend: White River Monster

NEWPORT, Ark. (KTHV) – Have you ever heard of the White Rive Monster legend? Some have proclaimed it the cousin of Scotland’s Loch Ness Monster and is sometimes referred to as “Whitey”.

White River Monster sightings have been popping up since at least 1915, but have fallen to wayside since the 1970s.

Some have described the monster as a massive grey beast with fins, but Arkansas.com said a Chicago biologist believes it just a seal that somehow found its way into the river.
