Kristen Kolter has been named the head softball coach for the Lyon College women’s softball team. 

Kolter was previously Lyon’s sports information director and assistant softball coach. 

Kolter is originally from Decatur, Indiana, graduating from Adams Central High School in 2003. She attended Union University and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in sports management with an emphasis in communications. Kolter also played softball and volleyball for the Union University Bulldogs. 

In 2010, Kolter received a master of education degree in athletic administration from William Woods University while serving as a graduate assistant softball coach. 

“I have truly enjoyed my time here at Lyon thus far and look forward to the upcoming season,” Kolter said. “We have a fairly young and talented team and I feel blessed to have an opportunity to work with them.” 

The softball team’s assistant coach is Teighlor Melton and the student assistant is Lauren Mills.
