The reception will take place at Lulav Restaurant located at 220 West 6th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas on March 8th from 5:30- 7 p.m. This event is sponsored by White River Health System, Belew, Bell, and Brissey Law Firm, and Future Fuel Chemical Company. Pre-prom program discourages drinking, texting while driving

BATESVILLE, Ark. -- On March 16 and 17 Southside High School will be involved with the "Every 15 Minutes" program. This program is designed to bring awareness to texting or drinking while driving.

Organizers are pushing to inform the student body of the dangers of distracted driving. This is a two-day program which will include a mock car accident and an overnight retreat, followed up with a memorial service on the morning of March 17.

Our high school prom is on March 18. Terry Watson of Batesville says this will hopefully be a wake-up call proir to this special event.

Four to enter Class of 2011 Athletic Hall of Fame

BATESVILLE, Ark. -- The Athletic Hall of Fame reception, banquet and induction ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. March 26 in Becknell Gymnasium. The induction ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m.

The inductees are baseball player Elbert Lindsey, '76; basketball player Freddie Avant, '80; baseball player Patrick Kircher, '97; and former athletic director and baseball coach Kirk Kelley.

To purchase tickets, please contact Nell Tebbetts at (870) 307-382 or at eleanore.tebbetts@lyon.edu. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. (Children age 3 and younger are free.) Please purchase tickets by Friday, March 18. There will also be a Scots baseball game at noon on March 26.

Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students, payable on site. Also, the annual Kilted Invitational Golf Scramble will be March 25 at the Course at Eagle Mountain. This four-person scramble will get going with a "bagpipe start" (think "shotgun start") at 12:30 p.m.

BATESVILLE, Ark. - UACCB invites you to attend The Community International Festival at Eagle Mountain School. There will be fun and games for the children and a parade led by the Lyon Pipe Band. Other entertainment includes: Chanting, Black Hat Dance, and Drepung Loseling Mystical Arts of Tibet by monks from Tibet; Hispanic Music by Joel Mendez; International Songs by Eagle Mountain Student Choir; Jappance Folk Dance: Naruko, Oh! Enka, Tokyo Ondo by the Lyon College Japanese Program; and International Dance by the Eagle Mountain Student Dancers.

5:30 p.m. Doors open.
6:00 Potluck Meal.
7:00 p.m. Dance and music program.

Admission is free! just bring a prepared dish from your native country to serve 12.
