Step back in time with 16th Annual Petit Jean Mountain Rendezvous

MORRILTON, Ark. (Petit Jean State Park) - During the Thanksgiving season, visitors to Petit Jean State Park are invited to take a step back in time to the early 1800s, at the park’s 16th Annual Mountain Rendezvous.

Beginning on Friday, November 29th, park visitors will be able to see how people dressed and lived when much of Arkansas was an unsettled wilderness, a place of French exploration and fur trade.  The rendezvous camp will be open to the public on Friday, November 29th, Saturday, November 30th and Sunday, December 1st.

During the rendezvous visitors can get a look at life during the 1830’s and have a chance to visit with re-enactors portraying that time period.  There will be opportunities to see how a muzzleloader rifle works, take a peek inside of a trade tent to see all that it has to offer, participate in pioneer children’s games, and more! This rendezvous is co-hosted by the Early Arkansaw Reenactors Association (EARA).

This event is free and open to the public.  For more information, contact the park at petitjean@arkansas.com or by phone at (501) 727-5441.
