Business of the Year field is wide open

Business of the Year field is wide open

BATESVILLE, AR - The Chamber of Commerce is still accepting nominations for Business of the Year. The fields are in the category of "New," "Small," or "Large" businesses. There is also a category for Volunteer of the Year.

Candidates must be Chamber members in good standing and display a thoughtful and innovative approach to business. Nomination forms are available at www.mybatesville.org.

BATESVILLE, AR (Chamber of Commerce) - Area professionals are invited to First Baptist Church annex, 610 E. Main, every 1st and 3rd Thursday for a professionals and business luncheon. The luncheon lasts from noon-12:45 p.m., with lunch provided and a 10 minute program.

First Southern Bank of Batesville Fears It Bought $22 Million Worth of Fake Bonds

Arkansas Business - First Southern Bank of Batesville bought $22 million worth of rural improvement district bonds that may be fraudulent. It is now looking to merge with another bank because of the potential loss. 

Other Arkansas banks also may have bought fake bonds, leaving a total debt of between $30 million and $40 million in a story that is still developing.
