Batesville awards $27.3M wastewater contract

BATESVILLE, Ark. -- The city of Batesville recently awarded a $27.3 million wastewater construction project to BRB Contractors Inc. of Topeka, Kan.

Within the next month, work is expected to start on building a wastewater treatment plant that can handle 8 million gallons of wastewater a day, Batesville Mayor Rick Elumbaugh told Arkansas Business. The current system can process only 4 million gallons a day.

“We have a lot of older infrastructure here in the city,” Elumbaugh said.
