ASU-Jonesboro:  ASU SBTDC to host “Facebook Timelines for Pages” workshop in Batesville March 21

The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), along with the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Mainstreet Batesville, will offer “Facebook Timelines for Pages” workshop Wednesday, March 21, from 1-4 p.m. at the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, 409 Vine Street in Batesville.

“The new Facebook pages design with timeline has arrived. Regardless of whether we like it or not, the changes are coming,” said Herb Lawrence, center director for the ASU SBTDC.  “It is best to prepare for them as soon as possible so your timeline will be ready to shine. On March 30, your Facebook page will convert to timelines.”

The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the 2012 Business Expo. This 4-hour jam-packed marketplace features more than 75 businesses showcasing their latest products, services, and technologies. Gift cards drawings will be held every 30 minutes; food vendors will be setup to feature “A Taste of the Chamber.” The drawing for two grand prizes will be held at 11:30am. All winners must be present to win.

FutureFuel Chemical Co., a subsidiary of publicly traded FutureFuel Corp., said Wednesday that it has reached an agreement with Emerson to purchase the vacant White-Rodgers facility in Batesville.

City receives more than $10K for Polk Bayou development

City receives more than $10K for Polk Bayou development

 

November 17, 2011 - The City of Batesville has been awarded $10,400 toward conducting a feasibility study for the potential development of the Polk Bayou. The feasibility study will address hydrology aspects of the bayou, the projected economic impact of the project and a conclusion as to whether or not the project is suitable for the area and able to support itself financially. The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce submitted this grant on behalf of the City of Batesville.

Mayor Rick Elumbaugh said, "The city developed a nature trail and playground on the Polk Bayou in 2008. The bayou is such a unique feature to have in our own backyard.
