ASU holds a Board of Trustees meeting

JONOESBORO, Ark. (KTHV) - The Arkansas State University Board of Trustees will meet Friday, December 7, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in McMullin Hall in Dryer Hall on the ASU-Mountain Home campus, 1600 South College.

The tentative agenda and proposed resolutions have been posted to the ASU System website, www.asusystem.edu.

For those who are unable to travel to Mountain Home, the meeting can also be heard via conference call in the Chancellor’s Conference Room in the Administration Building on the ASU-Jonesboro campus.

Prior to the board meeting, ASU-Jonesboro staff will have a presentation of their campus master plan at 9:00 a.m. in the Chancellor’s Conference Room in Roller Hall.  Members of the Board of Trustees have been invited to attend this presentation.

Peco Foods expanding, adding 300 jobs in Independence Co.

BATESVILLE, Arkansas (October 24, 2012) – Peco Foods today announced it will expand a feed mill in Newark and a processing plant in Batesville purchased in 2011. The expansions will add 300 combined jobs to the plants, bringing total employment in Independence County to 866.

JONESBORO — The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Batesville will host a workshop entitled, “Website Strategy and Planning for Small Businesses,” on Thursday, August 16, at the Batesville Chamber of Commerce, 409 VineStreet, from 1:30-4:30 p.m.

The seminar will be conducted by Steven Trotter of Pleth LLC to help attendees explore the strategies, techniques, technologies and best practices needed to turn their websites into an effective marketing tool for their business.

"Whether you are planning to create your own website or hire someone to do it for you, you need to know some key fundamentals," said Herb Lawrence, ASU SBTDC director.  "Attendees will also learn how to include their social media marketing efforts such as Facebook, Twitter, and blogs into their website for synergy."
