The Thea Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of its 2013 Visual Arts Scholarship Competition for high school seniors, and its Visual Arts Competition for high school juniors, which were both finalized by a panel of qualified judges at the Thea Center on Saturday, January 19, 2013.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Are you looking for a unique Christmas experience? Look no further, the Little Rock Zoo will be opening their doors to Christmas in the Wild.

Christmas in the Wild will be held December 8 and 15, both days opening at 9:30 a.m. There will be arts and crafts for the family to participate in while sipping on hot cocoa. Santa will also be there to meet every child. Tickets will be $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

‘Downton Abbey Revisited’ to air Sunday on AETN

 

The Academy Award-winning series “Downton Abbey” provides viewers with a special behind-the-scenes episode, “Downton Abbey Revisited,” Sunday, Nov. 25, at 8 p.m. on the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN). The program will repeat at 9:30 p.m.

Fans awaiting the Jan. 6 premiere of “Downton Abbey: Season 3” may enjoy interviews with many of the series’ most popular actors – including Dame Maggie Smith, Elizabeth McGovern, Hugh Bonneville, Dan Stevens, Michelle Dockery, Joanne Froggatt, Jim Carter and Siobhan Finneran – as they discuss favorite moments from seasons 1 and 2, their characters’ interactions, cast camaraderie, costuming and fashion.

NADT Dance Academy preforms The Nutcracker

Batesville, Ark. (KTHV) - Don't miss this legendary story and performance of The Nutcracker. The NADT Dance Academy will be preforming Friday, November 16th. The show will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the UACCB Independent Hall in Batesville. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children (10 and under), you can purchase your tickets in advance at the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, Batesville Area Arts Council, Carlee's Hallmark, Ivory Owl, and all three NADT Dance Academy locations.

Fall Family Day at Old Independence Regional Museum October 20

Celebrate the fall season with Old Independence Regional Museum at the 6th annual Fall Family Day, on Saturday, October 20th from 10am to 2pm.  The event is free and open to the public.  This year’s program features “Arkansas’ Wild Past” with special programming that includes Rodney Paul of Raptor Rehab of Central Arkansas, who will be bringing owls, hawks and a falcon, James Gage and his wolves, Dr. Rebecca McPeake a Professor of Wildlife with the Cooperative Extension service will talk about snake awareness and will bring a the snake from the Arkansas 4-H Center.  Other programming will include Powhattan State Park interpreter, Mary Buchman who will demonstrate Dutch Oven Cooking and Old Davidsonville State Park interpreter Krystal Watson who will talk about the fur trade and keel boats on the White River.
