High pressure keeps cold, dry conditions in Ark.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- High pressure will remain firmly in place as it positions itself over the forecast area Thursday.

Cold, dry conditions will persist, but northerly winds will be a little more subdued compared to previous days as they generally hang between 3-8 mph.

Despite some high clouds streaming east southeast over the CWA skies will remain sunny throughout the day.

At the moment, the hard freeze warning for the tier of counties/parishes along and just north of the Interstate 20 corridor will be allowed to run it course and expire at noon today as highs there will be just above freezing by that time.

However, the hard freeze warning for the remainder of my northern zones will continue through Friday morning. High temperatures overall this afternoon will range from around 30 north to the lower 40s south.

Protection of pipes, pets and people should be a priority until things begin to warm up on Friday.

Thursday: Sunny, High 33

Thursday Night: Clear, Low 20
